Welll......I've had an interesting couple of weeks and have hardly had time to even get on here and read blogs! As always, the same ol' sorry! I was so excited to take Gavin trick or treating for the first time and to blog about it and yadda yadda. BUT, that did not end up happening.
He was too allergic to his costume. Derek had to leave for work that night at 6pm. And Halloween was the beginning of what would make for a VERY long week of sickness.
Saturday, I decided I wanted to attempt family pictures. What many of you probably don't know is that I really enjoy doing photo editing. I actually started college as an art/graphic arts major. But later switched to computer information systems b/c graphic arts doesn't bring in the $$ unless you live in a large city.
Anyways, I always wanted to do photography and edit them, but I don't have a fancy smancy camera. I have a good one, just not a professional one. SO...that's why you haven't seen these types of things from me.
I enlisted my MIL to be the photographer for the day and Derek's little sister to be the clown in the background (she did wonderful).
We did manage to get some great pics and even better once they were touched up and played with. However, I learned some great lessons:
DO NOT take pictures at 4 pm when it's VERY bright outside. And windy! And, DO NOT WEAR WHITE outside in said weather! I look HUGE! Next year we're going for black.
We took photos at Derek's family's ranch and I'm only sharing a few of my favorites. There really wasn't one single good one of us three together that is good for a Christmas card, but oh well! There's always next year.
Those are just a few. Until I decide on one for our Christmas card, I won't post any more :)
After picture taking, we went to a friend's get-together and Gavin got terribly sick. Then Monday, I got terribly sick. Derek was gone and I had the flu! Oh. My. Gosh! Talk about misery! I won't bore you with details, but lets' just say, It's Friday. I'm still Sick. Gavin is still sick. And our weekend getaway to San Antonio Riverwalk w/out the baby is cancelled.
Ugh!

The pics turned out so neat. I never think to find great backgrounds to take my photos. Doesn't help we're always home and don't go that many neat places.
Bummer about missing your trip. This weekend is a busy one for us with two bday parties that we'll probably miss now that 2 out of 3 girls aren't feeling well. :(
