After my post yesterday about everything that is going to change in the future with Derek's job, I was able to reflect on my current job. Let me take you back to what exactly I do.
I left my well paying insurance underwriting job (which I had to work my way up to) in order to take this job working for his family as an office manager. It came w/benefits, great pay & flexibility for me to take off or leave early any time needed. Great right?
I've gone back and forth as most people do who work w/their in laws about if it's worth it. We've butted heads a few times and there's a very fine line between work and family. I'll leave it at that:)
But, yesterday I decided it would be best for my sanity to find a new job. Especially since I will eventually need to anyway. If I wait till Derek leaves the company, then we BOTH will lose health insurance and then what would we do? Not to mention we'd both be looking for a new job.
This actually wasn't a tough decision for me. My MIL made it very easy if you know what I mean ;)
I wish I wasn't worried about what the future holds with he and I both starting over with our work, but I am a little worried. We've lived very comfortably in the last few years. Now we have another person to support. Isn't it crazy how things can change so quickly?
Derek is 100% supportive about me finding a new job. He knows I put up with entirely too much and would be happier elsewhere.
So, wish me luck everyone! And for you locals....if you know anyone hiring let me know :) I'm a very qualified person! The search begins!

Girl, hope you find that perfect change. Change can be a scary thing, but it's so necessary!!!!
Sounds like you have a ton of great skills that will come in handy for your next job! Praying that you'll find a great new opportunity! Just remember how it says in the Bible that our gifts and talents will make room for us. You can do it!!!
Good luck, Rosie! I hope you will find the perfect job for you and your family. I know full well what it's like to work for the in-laws! My husband works for his stepdad and mom's company and I thought it would be great to work there too. Wrong! I only stayed about 6 months and it in theory should have been a great job (great pay, 5 mins from home), but there's a loss of independence that comes from working with family all the time and it is hard to separate the family and work thing too.
I actually do know that KXXV, News Channel 25 in Waco is hiring for 2 sales assistants! You just need some computer skills: typing, word, excell for the national/regional position. But for the local sales asst position, you'll need to know photoshop. My boss offered me my old job back (the local sales asst) when I was in town last week lol so that's how I know they're open & lookin to hire now! Good luck on the hunt!
I am sure everything will work out, you need to email me the details of everything b/c I didn't know that y'all were both going to start a new adventure! I will keep my ears/eyes opened for you...
xoxo
Praying for you!! Makes me thankful for my job and my mother-in-law!! I'm sure this will all be worth it when you have a job that makes you happy and your husband has a job that allows him to spend more time at home wiht you and Gavin!!
Hi! I am new to your blog and excited to get to know you better :) I love your little man's name, we were going to name our six month old gavin and also love the name lee, but ended up going with something else!
Try not to worry too much about that extra baby weight, I'm in the same boat, except I've got a good fifty pounds to lose off a tall frame! It's going slow but I know I'll get there...
Can't wait to read more!:)
