I've had a hard time trying to get around to blogging as much it seems. Mostly b/c I can't keep my hands off my baby boy!
A lot has changed just in the last couple weeks and I'm trying to soak every bit of it in. I don't ever want to forget the precious moments we have right now. Especially if he's anything like his Daddy and his side of the family. The guys are such "guy's-guy's" and definitely not into doing the "girl thing."
Gavin turned 8 weeks yesterday but looks like he's 16 weeks! The boy has gotten so big. We're getting comments constantly about how long he is. I personally don't notice that b/c I see him every day but I'm assuming he looks pretty darn long to everyone else as much as we hear about it. He goes to the Dr next week so we will find out his progress.
The last week, he has gone from being colicky and constipated to being one of the happiest babies ever! And as far as being constipated, it's getting better. I increased his formula intake so I think it helps with his mood and sleep a little better.
Every morning Gavin likes to wake up at the crack of dawn (5 am) to play. It doesn't matter what I do to avoid it, he's waking up! So we get up and play then I usually feed him and he passes out. His favorite things to do right now are sing songs with motion (Patty Cake or Wheels on the bus, etc) & he finally likes his mobile I bought for his crib. Good thing b/c it was not cheap. ha! I try to get ready for work while he plays but since he hasn't gotten into a sleep schedule completely, it depends if he's tired or playing. He's recently slept much better on his own. Which makes me a little sad b/c he already doesn't need his mommy as much :( jk At least I can sleep better now. I keep reading about every one's baby sleeping in their own crib and how long they sleep. I'm a little jealous. I'm lucky if Gavin sleeps 4-5 hours straight. And he's still in his bassinet next to my side of the bed. But since he's a scooter, he won't be in it much longer. He'll be too big.
We're constantly noticing the little things that have changed. I don't think you notice them until it's your own. G loves eating his hand. All the time. Better than his binky *gasp* He's a drooler too. Hello bibs! It doesn't take anything to get him to smile anymore. Sometimes he is falling asleep in my arm, and he'll look at me and grin from ear to ear...b/c he loves me :) We notice a personality coming out and he's a little stinker! He started doing this fake cry and whine and it is hilarious. He's even got the pouty lip to accompany it. I really need to get it on camera soon so I never forget it. Gavin just started to notice ceiling fans and can't keep his eyes off of them. Or anything around him really; he likes to be held facing forward now so he can see. And yes, he's holding his head up pretty well too.
Obviously, I can go on and on bragging about him BUT I do have a job to get to. That's one thing we haven't mastered yet. I blame it on all the ruckus we have outside the office this week and last. The guys are getting ready to go work the floods in Mississippi and it's LOUD here. My moby wrap should be in today so hopefully that will help me juggle him and work. But, Needless to say, my left arm is getting a workout and my right hand is getting better and better at typing all by itself!
Hopefully I'll have more pictures next time. I don't have time to upload off my camera today.

LOL about one handed typing. That's seriously a blog post I wanted to write! So glad you're Moby will be coming. You will LOVE it! It has become my LIFESAVER lately when my girl wants to be held, which is a lot lately!
I was ecstatic to read that G is a happy boy now! That makes things so much easier when they're not crying! I totally know all about that!
Our dr's appt is also next week, on Monday. It will be fun to compare where our babies are at! :)
Hope you're having a great day. You're always calling me super mom, but you are really the super mom, juggling work and baby! You're awesome mama!
I love love love the pics and loved getting to read all of his updates! He is getting so big! Makes me sad b/c I haven't seen him in FOREVER :( I miss you friend and our daily emails, it's hard where I am now but I think about you often and I PINKY PROMISE when things slow down I am all yours and G's! :)
Avery Claire LOVES the ceiling fan, too, whether it's spinning or not! And she loves her hand, also! She's a drooler...wonder if that means we'll have babies with teeth early? Your Gavin is precious!
