Yesterday was such a big day and I have been waiting a while to talk about it! My hubby and I went in for my first ultrasound. Yep, that's right. I'm PREGNANT!!! I haven't been able to write it on here b/c we wanted to tell our families first.
We were on a break from Clomid like I mentioned before, and the first month I was off of it, July, was when I conceived. Let me just mention, we did not stop trying and it didn't just happen. We were still actively ttc but without the help of meds and it looked like it worked!!
So last night we had Derek's family over for dinner. His grandparents, parents and little sister Hailey were there. Before we sat down to eat, Hailey asked if I could show her where my cat was hiding, so i took her in my room and gave her a shirt I made her. She's 7 and her favorite toy right now is Littlest Pet Shop, so the shirt had prints of that on it. Then I told her to not say anything about her shirt-just to put it on.
So, everyone was starting to eat and her Granny said, "Hailey, where did you get that shirt?" and then his mom stared at it for a while and didn't notice what it said. Then Derek finally said, "We didn't bring ya'll here for dinner, we brought you all here to tell you what Hailey's shirt says." Here's a pic of her in her shirt. If you can see it, it says "Aunt to be." She was so cute, she had no idea what it meant when you say Aunt. lol. The biggest surprise was when his grandpa and dad started to cry. They have been wanting us to have kids for a while now and they were just so happy. I don't think his family has stopped crying since then. lol.
Tonight, I am telling my family. They are coming over to watch the Cowboys game, and I have something up my sleeve for telling them, but I hope it doesn't fall through b/c it involves taking a picture and they hate pictures! Wish me luck!
So anyways, I went in thinking I was 8 weeks yesterday according to my chart and the internet, but since I ovulated late, he measured me at 7 weeks 1 day(yesterday) and moved my due date to April 21st. He did say it could definately change though. I don't think I could have gotten through my almost 2 year journey of infertility without the prayers and support of my friends and fellow bloggers. Thank you all sooo much! The power of prayer is truley amazing!
Here's one more pic of me holding my 1st sonogram. You can't see it well, but my baby has a head, arms, legs and lots of other cool stuff. However, it just looks like a blob here :)
