I'm going to have my HSG today. Everyone keeps asking me what it is and I've only known that it is where you go to a radiologist and they shoot dye in your uturus to see if your tubes are blocked. Here's is a better definition for those of you either going through IF or just wanna know what we have to go through. (this is only the beginning of what IFers have to go through BTW)
An HSG, Hysterosalpingogram, is where dye is put into a tube which is inside the uturus and is supposed to flow through the fallopian tubes. When it is in there, an X-ray is taken. Hopefully my tubes are unblocked and it goes right through. An HSG also may find problems on the inside of the uterus that prevent a fertilized egg from attaching (implanting) to the uterine wall. Which would makes sense as to why I have yet to become pregnant. I'm not hoping that is the case though!
Supposedly, this can be a bit painful so they advise you to take Advil or a muscle relaxer of some sort. That's my excuse not to come back to work today :) Anyways, IF my tubes are blocked they will want to do a surgery on me to unblock them, but I'm praying that won't have to happen.
I was supposed to have this done 9 months ago but my uneducated EX-doctor, said it wasn't neccessary. See, you have to have a period and I went 3 months without one so she decided to stop waiting and stick me on meds. Any good dr. would not have put me on meds until my HSG was done. Anyways, I will not harp on that anymore b/c it just gets me mad again.
I woke up sick this morning with a fever, cough & headache so I'm kinda looking forward to just going home afterwards and sleeping it all off! I don't know when I will get any results but I will post them as soon as I do!

I don't know what nationality the guy is that will do it, but if he dark and has really dark hair it's the same guy (I always forget his name) he did both of mine, he is really gentle and he will tell you how it's going step by step. I've heard alot of women say there radiogolist didn't tell them the results and they had to have an appt with there Dr. but I knew both times. The first time he told me that it appears to be blocked, they tried to force the dye through and then he said it wasn't sucessful and said that Dr. M would be calling me to set up an appt to discuss the options (thats when he said I had to have surgery.) the next time when the dye flew through he told me that it was hollow as ever and that the dye just went on through (he always shows you on the screen so that you can learn about it and see it yourself)...my point with that long story is, you should know somethihng today :) Let me know how it went. Love you and praying for you sweetie!!!! MUAH!
Praying for you sweetheart! I hope everything goes smoothly for you today. I love you bunches =]
Good luck and I will say a quick prayer that everything goes well. I can't wait to hear the results when you get them. I am sorry you are feeling well and I hope you get some much needed rest afterwards!!
