Pumpkin Patch

This past weekend, the hubs and I decided to take Gavin to the pumkin patch at a local church. It was a bold attempt considering it was nasty outside and our little guy was NOT in a good mood. But, Derek isn't always home to do these sorts of things, so I had to jump at the first opportunity before it was too late.

As you will see from the pictures, it didn't go as planned.

We put our little cow in his costume and turns out, he is allergic to that material. So cranky pants threw a royal fit. The small amount of sun was blinding as well, so no smiles were happening.

Then, we changed him into regular clothes and all he wanted to do was play with his new shoes. lol.

Oh what a day it was! I'm glad we have that memory of going though. We ended up choosing a crazy looking pumpkin with warts all over it. My idea. Kind of like picking the "underdog."

This will be the first year we haven't carved a pumpkin since we started dating 7 1/2 yrs ago, but it's ok! There's always next year.

We also celebrated my 27th birthday with my family on Sunday night w/a delicious steak dinner and my favorite, Red Velvet cake!! Sorry-no pictures. I didn't care to really remember my 27th b-day this year ;)

And Monday-my real bday-my bestie Jenn and I hung out during the day, and Derek stayed in town long enough to take me out to eat at my most favorite restaurant in the world ! Sameria Steakhouse. It's a family owned hibachi japanese restaurant. We go every singele year for either my bday or our anniversary (which just passed while I was in Frediericksburg and forgot to mention. Happy 4 years Honey!)

OK, I'll wrap this post up and leave you will some pictures from the pumpkin patch. Maybe next year we will get some smiles :)
