I know I've been a terrible blogger. As you can imagine, it's hard to get things done. I can open the computer for a whole minute and even comment on your blogs, but uploading pictures is a task!
Gavin turned 3 weeks yesterday! Time is flying by like crazy. I feel like I was JUST in the hospital. I've healed up and am feeling pretty well. I still have some occasional pain from my EPI, but it's rare. Other than that...I'm still wearing my Belly Bandit and it seems to be working. I am stuck at a certain weight, but I'm losing inches, so that's good!
Derek has gone back to work. He traveled to Arkansas Tuesday, so I got to take both shifts for the first time. Usually, he stays up with Gavin till 3 and then we switch. Since Gavin's "fussy time" is around midnight till 2 every morning, I had my work cut out for me. I've shed some tears, but of course survived & did it again last night. I really admire women who do this all alone. I know I'll be one of them, but at least I have a hubby I can call crying to & know that he will come home soon (even if it is only on weekends of every other week). This is tough stuff, but it really gets better. Have to keep reminding myself of that. I'm so blessed to have this child and family now! I cannot wait to celebrate my first Mother's Day Sunday with my family! (D will be home for that).
I've started working as well, but only from home. Little GG thinks it's funny to start crying while I've got everything all spread out on the table to work on. Needless to say, it takes me all day to pay a few bills and do payroll. I'm hoping it gets much better b/c in 3 weeks I'm going back to work and he's coming with me.
Gavin has made a few changes! He's put on some weight-that's for sure! I'm ok with that. He's a healthy boy! We've cut his feedings down to 3.5 oz. It's a compromise from the 4 we were giving him and the 3 the dr. told us to. And he is eating every 3-4 hrs instead of 2! We've learned to distract him until it's time. He's a stinker and loves to pass gas & smile! It's so cute though :)
I noticed this week that he is actually looking at me instead of around me when I talk to him. It's really neat.
GG loves music! Thank goodness for Pandora radio on my iphone! It's a lifesaver. I'm turning my child into a "Gleek" b/c he loves the Glee Cast station on there. He could be crying and I turn that on, and he's completely content. I have a CD player but only have lullaby cd's. He likes the real stuff! lol.
We like play time outside as well, but it's already getting so hot here in TX. (95 yesterday) so our time outside is limited to mornings and evenings, which is fine b/c daytime is naptime for us. Speaking of, I've had to learn the hard way that I really need to sleep when he does. I have been doing chores and everything else imaginable while he sleeps and by the time he's wide awake, I'm dragging. Maybe after I finish this blog, I'll go back to bed since he's sleeping.
We finally brought the dogs in to meet the baby formally :) Dee Dee, the australian shephard) was so nurturing. It was absolutely adorable. I wish she could have been a mommy before we had her fixed b/c she's so sweet.
Out pit-mix, Spanky, could care less about the baby though. As long as he's near his daddy, he's happy.

Every time Gavin made a sound, Dee Dee would check on him. SO freakin' adorable!!
G is so relaxed here. He sleeps with his arms up & tongue out like his dad.
We graduated to the real bathtub. He likes baths as much as he likes the radio. But only if he isn't too tired. He doesn't like lotion though. That gets him screaming!
And his new favorite thing is his cradle bouncer. This is our babysitter. He's already figured out that if he swings his arms around enough, he hits the animals and they move! He just goes to town and swings his arms all over the place. He can sit and play for an hour in this thing, and then pass out and sleep for a couple hours. Without even moving!
Gavin also holds his binky. IDK if he is aware but it's funny to watch him push it back in with his hand if it come out.

He's getting burped here and did a yawn in the middle. You should hear his yawns! He sounds like a dinosaur squeeling!

And this is the face I get if he's cranky pants. This is the face that calls for lots of mommy kisses until he cheers up.

OK, sorry for the story book! Hopefully this post will hold you over until after Mother's Day. Hopefully I'll have some new pics to share with all of you!

Rosemary he is so cute, enjoy your time you have with him while he is little, they grow way too fast! And I agree sleep when he sleeps, that was the best advise I got when I had my first.
