How is it that I have time to blog right now you ask? Well it's because my poor baby has colic and stays up alllll night long, leaving him completely tired during the day. He went 6 whole hours between feedings this morning! Before you get all mad at me for letting him starve himself, hear what his Dr. told us today:
He said that my little prince is *gasp* overweight! Apparently, he should have only gained a couple ounces since birth but instead has gained over a pound. He has a bit of a temper & gets soo mad if we don't feed him till he's full, so we bumped him up to 4 oz sometimes. Umm...oops! We've been over-feeding. Leaving him not just overweight, but very sick to his tummy. So the doc says to make him wait at least 3 hours between feedings, doing whatever we can to hold him off. This will be a fun experience in the middle of the night on zero hours of
sleep. But...doctor knows best! So, looks like Gavin may hate me in the next few weeks until he gets used to the smaller amount :(
We also went and got his birth certificate today since his social security card came in. He's now official!
On another note, has anyone tried out the Belly Bandit? I went and got one today b/c I've heard really great things about it. I can't wait to see the magic it works on my post baby belly!

I started this blog as an "infertile" woman looking for support. Although I am one of the lucky ones who finally conceived, infertility is still a part of me & made me a stronger person with more appreciation for the blessing I've received. I personally don't feel like I should be considered a true infertile person. I just had a super dumb doctor before who didn't know what she was doing; leading me to go through all the treatments of infertility for nothing! But regardless, I think that everyone should try to understand it a little better. One of my besties, Tiffany, is dedicating her blog this whole week to National Infertility Awareness Week.

PLEASE, head over to her blog and learn more. The success stories are inspiring and Tiff is such a great advocate, being someone handling infertility herself.

thats very interesting about the feedings, we get to figure all this stuff out very shortly so feel free to share any stories:) I didnt realize you could give a baby too much to eat I just thought the baby wouldnt eat it if he was full.
Oh no girl I'm sorry your little guy has Colic!! Who cares if he likes to eat lots, at least he is gaining weight and is healthy:)
Oh gosh, I'm so so sorry things have been rough. I will be praying for things to get better soon! I don't bottle feed so I'm not too good at knowing the ins and out of feeding with formula but I do know what it's like to be a new mom trying to find my way! :)
Also wanted to mention that when we had Audrey, we totally thought she had colic too. Turns out she had acid reflux and she cried nonstop because of that. We ended up having to give her meds daily almost until she turned one, so if the crying continues, just be aware that it may not even be colic after all. I've been keeping an eye on Livvie and I'm thinking she might have a bit of reflux too as she spits up several times a day and she has her times where she's just inconsolable.
Anyhow...sorry for the book. Feel free to email me anytime if you need to vent or need moral support. I know it sucks to operate off of no sleep but just try to get your rest when you can and DO NOT be afraid to ask for help...even if it's to make you something to eat or help you with chores!
No pictures of Gavin? Shame on you!!!! Haha!! :)
I've not tried the belly bandit, but wished I had! Lemme know how that goes! Sorry for Gavin's colic!
Hi! I've been following your blog for a few months now from the shadows! I have a new baby, also, and thought I'd throw in my 2 cents here! Have you tried Gripe Water? It really seems to help our baby girl! I just give it to her about 10 minutes before a feeding.
