Well, I just got home from being in town and going to the doctor. I have to admit, I'm a little disappointed. Let me start & say that we are both very healthy. The stars I saw on Saturday were from overdoing myself. My blood pressure is great. However, my cervix is just not making any progress. SO....
I have to go into my dr. next week, on the afternoon the day before my scheduled induction, and I'm having a cervical ripening balloon catheter put in. All I know is that it helps me dilate more and it could take a full day to work. Right after it's placed in, I will be checking into the hospital. So we will be there a lot sooner than expected. My cervix just is not thinning or dilating or anything like he wanted, so this will help me when he's ready to induce. Not to be a negative Nancy, but it looks like this labor is going to be a VERY long labor!!
Since I'm not making progress, Derek is staying out of town for work until Friday, then next week will be "the" week!
I stopped by the store afterwards & picked up a couple dresses for the hospital. One to wear there & one to wear home. I couldn't find a "coming home" outfit appropriate for this hot weather, so I managed to find a couple.
I also had to stop and get a new phone. After being dedicated to a blackberry forever, I finally broke down & got an iphone! lol. About time...
Now, I'm going to go take a nap b/c I'm exhausted!!
How far along: 38 weeks
Labor signs: Just lots of Braxton Hicks. They've gotten much stronger & even waking me up at night. Wish they were just the real thing.
Maternity clothes: yes
Sleep: only about 3 hrs a night
Best moment of the week: We had a great week! Spent lots of time w/friends and family.
Food Cravings: Of alllll things, I'm craving salty foods like popcorn & french fries. Not good!
Food adversions: None, however, I get heartburn w/everything so I drink lots of milk to help.
Gender: It's a boy! Gavin Lee!
Morning Sickness: Nope
Belly button: a little "outty"
What I miss: My body, sleep, comfort. I'm just huge and uncomfortable!
What I look forward to: Holding my son in my arms after all this time.
Milestones: My doctor says he's about 7 1/2 lbs right now. Wow!

Hey there! I know the waiting is tough but just try to hang in there! A week will fly by! :)
In the meantime, I'll say a prayer that your body starts preparing itself and you won't have to deal with all that cervix ripening stuff.
My doctor never does down there checks so I have no clue where I'm at. I'm just trusting in the Lord to get me through this next part and trying to get all my ducks in line and just be ready!
Hope you have a good nap! My girls decided they didn't want to take their nap today so Mommy didn't get hers! :(
One of my friends had to get that little balloon thing...she said it didn't hurt, so there is a little hope...but I am with Ver, I am hoping that you don't have to get it and that you make HUGE progress before next week! I am saying prayers for you!!!
And I am SO jealous that you have the iphone now...
Love ya chicky!
I am so excited for you, you are so close!!! It is such an amazing experience, words just can't describe. Soak in every single moment from now on. You will believe it or not miss being pregnant later on because it is such an amazing thing... the hospital part will go by fast, but soak every second in... it's so special and you will desperately miss that in a few months. And of course each day after you have that sweet baby. You think the past years have flown by, but once you start having kids... they really do. Can you tell I have had my last??? ha!!! Enjoy it girl, you are going to make one amazing momma!!!! =)
Ive never heard of that balloon thing Im going to have to go do some research to figure it all out. I hope your last few days go by quickly so you can meet your son soon!
