I had a dream last night that I was sitting on the toilet & started bleeding. Immediately, I called Derek in there and told him it was "time." Then, I was freaking out b/c I wasn't ready. We didn't have a bag packed, we didn't have a car seat. We didn't even have the crib up.
So naturally, I woke up due to this terrible dream of mine....but only b/c I had to pee really bad :)
But it's true, we really don't have a single thing ready. I got a bunch of baby clothes already, but need to wash them & hang them up. We have a bassinet that needs to be screwed together. And that's basically it. Are we behind here? Some of my other pregnant friends due after me already have the rooms done or almost done. AHHHH! Then it got me to thinking about what else other than the room needs to be done. I am a self confessed organizer. you open my closets & drawers & everything is in order, in it's own container or basket. Even 100x's more now that I'm nesting. So, here I am thinking I have so much more to do other than the nursery. I need to get the whole house prepared. We need to do some little fix-it's around the house instead of waiting for them to get done on their own. AHHH! It really put things into perspective here that we will have a baby soon. Hopefully not too soon, but soon.
I don't even remember where I was going with this story. Sorry.
On another note, we have two dogs and a cat. They are our current children and very, very spoiled. If it's below 40 degrees, they are inside. (and any other time they give me the sad face for that matter) The dogs haven't been a worry for us and the baby even though they aren't small dogs. But the cat & his odd personality have. For the last month, our dog Spanky has been hiking his leg on the wall in the kitchen. We have beat his butt so many times, yelled & even left him out at night in freezing weather. We've never seen him do it though but who else would it be? Mr. Pee-Pee Pants hikes his leg about 5 times each time we go outside. Then yesterday morning, I noticed my bathroom door and floor had been peed on. He wasn't even in there. Guess who was though? My cat, Samson!! *Gasp* It hit me, he's spraying. Oh NOOOO!!! Both animals are fixed, but you can't stop a cat from spraying.
I've looked online and the # 1 reason a house cat would do that is b/c of stress from sensing a new addition to the family, or if there is a new animal. Can he actually tell there's changes going on already? You bethcha! I could use any advise on this subject. I'm going to do some online research today, but if you know of any tips to stop this, please, PLEASE share!

Hi, I've been following your blog but never commenting, I know bad blog stalker. Anyway I had to comment on this post. First off let me say I am not far behind you on my due date and I am not ready at all. We have nothing but a few clothes we got for free. So don't feel so bad about not having the room ready. Second I have a cat that has the same problem. He has what is called FUS or feline urologic syndrome. It is basically when a cat gets stressed for some reason their urethra becomes inflamed and they have a hard time peeing, and usually let you know by peeing on "stuff". I would take your cat to the vet for a check of his urine. I have my boy on meds that really help with his stress reaction. There are also meds they can go on for anxiety if it is not infection/urinary related. There are things you can do to help curb the urinating on things. Hope that helps a little and good luck getting his "issues" figured out!
Oh Rosie! I know the feeling! I have 2 cats and 1 dog (who thinks shes a cat). Both cats are fixed (1female, 1 male) but the male cat began spraying about 6 months ago! I have tried everything, including taking him to the vet. He had a urinary tract infection and we gave him meds but the spraying continued! The walls, OH the darn walls!!! He pees on all of them, and i run around behind him cleaning it up and spraying it with vinegar water (its suppose to help with the smell). I usually toss his butt in the litter box as a reminder thats his potty, not my walls!!! So far, nothing works! He is our first love and we can't even consider getting rid of him, so if you find anything that helps let me know!
Oh and nothing major has changed in my household (obviously no babies here :( ) so i don't know if he is stressed or what?!
I sure hope you find a fix for him I dont have any cats so I cant help you out there.
As much stuff as we have gotten I feel so very far from prepared now we get to put all this stuff together and paint something Im not looking forward to at all!
Check out my blog I just gave you an award.
