Sorry I've been slacking on blogging since last week. The holidays are never a relaxing peaceful time in my world and I blame that on my high-strung, hormonal, work overloaded self :) Plus, I'm sure everyone doesn't want to hear about my emotional up & down Thanksgiving weekend. Just in case...
Thursday we went to D's family Turkey day at lunch time. Nice, quiet, boring, old people to talk to who can't hear. You know...the regular. Then a large part of his family came to the house(unexpected) so we got to entertain for a few hours all while trying to recover from eating so much and having to cook a couple large things for my family dinner. And we learned that we have LOTS of child-proofing to do. Derek's cousin from Colorado & his wife & baby Mason were there and he is one active little boy. I'm assuming mine will be to, as much as he kicks me, so we have our work cut out for us as far as re-decorating. THen we went to my family Thanksgiving where some member of the fam were tipsy & wouldn't shut their mouth. Apparently my "hips are getting bigger," my body will "never be the same", I'm "too hormonal" oh and the name we picked "isn't suitable....it should be this or that. blah blah blah!" AHHHHH-the joys of the holidays! (insert sarcasm).Needless to say, we spent Black Friday-alone-no shopping-no family-just alone! And I enjoyed it.
Friday, we went on a double date with the besties Cody & Kelli and ate at a nice restaurant & saw The Blind Side. Great Movie & a must see!
Saturday I went shopping while there were still a few sales & I got all of D's Christmas. We then decided to brave my family once again and had dinner at my parents b/c Lacy, William & Connor were in town. Always good to see them. He is like a whole new baby since his tummy surgery & I got to put him to sleep. Such a great feeling! Then Lacy convinced us to go to Georges (a bar/grill). Took a lot of convincing and promises not to smoke anywhere near me to get me to go. Luckily, Baylor was playing out of town and it was empty so I didn't have any problems. And Derek and William bonded while I chatted with the girls & my friend who was there.
Sunday we watched football the entire day. Literally. We haven't put any Christmas stuff up yet though b/c Derek is going to do it tonight and tomorrow b/c he can't work due to the rain.
So that's what's been going on & work is pretty busy so sorry if I haven't commented on your blogs. Hope your Thanksgiving was less stressfull as mine :)
